I hit the Sleep/Wake button and it does not respond. The slider is frozen as well. I can get calls and texts but cannot see what they are or respond due to the fact my phone is 100% locked up and non responsive. Is there another way to get response? To unlock this thing. I did not drop it or download any programs recently.

What happens if I let it run the battery down and then recharge it?

Hold the power button (top of phone) for 10-30 secs.. if nothing...then hold the power and the sleep button for 30 secs until something happens.

THere's one more to try if that doesn't work.

Last resort

What is the one last thing? I did both several times but nothing. I have had an iphone for quite some time so I have rebooted many many times. The phone works but cannot move the slider and cannot turn it off.

Hold the Sleep/Wake and the Home at the same time, after 10 seconds release the Sleep/Wake while continuing to hold the Home for 10 - 30 secs. until something happens.

If this doesn't work try the same but while connecting to your computer with Itunes running.
