if i buy an iPhone 3G off craigs list or something like that i hear it is useless if it does not have a sim card. is this true? i have a T-Mobile sim card from my old Nokia phone from many years ago (surprised i still have it) can i put it in the iPhone 3G and use it? i know edge and 3G wont work. i just want to use it as an iPod Touch

Yes, the iPhone is useless (except for being an iPod) without a sim card. That's GSM for ya. As for putting in your T-Mobile SIM, the iPhone would have to be jailbroken first.
