iPhone 3G won't boot up...

I found my old iPhone 3G and i cannot get it to boot up or be recognized by iTunes, it just gets stuck on this screen:

Is there anyway to factory reset the phone? So i can get it to work again?


I have tried holding the home and power button but that doesn't resolve my issue, i need to factory reset it somehow.

Any help or suggestions are welcomed, thank you.

hold the power and home buttons down for a while

I have done that. It just either resets the phone and boots up to the same image or it turns off the phone. Is there anyway i can factory reset the phone so it can work again?

Put it in DFU mode then try and restore through iTunes
