iPhone 3G Won't Restore

So I'm just trying to wipe/make sure my old 3g works so I can sell it. However, after attempting to delete the info then restoring it from my computer, the progress bar on the iphone (with the apple logo) is stuck at about 60% while the restore status in iTunes is stuck at around 98%. Any ideas on how to wipe/clear/restore my old phone??
