Hi,
I've got a little problem with an iPhone 3Gs.
I was asked by a colleague to help him jailbreak an iPhone he bought of eBay.
The iPhone is still locked to the carrier that the previous owner used, and it was updated to the latest firmware 4.3.3.
I cooked together a custom firmware with redsn0w, transfered it to the iPhone using the hosts-file hack. Everything seemed to be working fine until it finished up the firmware transfer. The phone went into a DFU loop. That was fine, as I could boot tethered with redsn0w. But the real problem started as soon as I unplugged the USB cable. Just in a couple of minutes the phone turned itself off again. And wen straight into DFU. When I connected the cable iTunes recognized it as a phone in DFU and asked for a restore.
I booted tethered again with redsn0w and the phone was working again.
When the phone is connected to the USB cable it works fine, but as soon as i disconnect it it drains in a couple of minutes.
For a minute I tough it could be the battery, but I have a 3GS myself, so I put my own battery, fully charged into his iPhone but same scenario. Boots up tethered, but as soon as the USB cable goes, it turns it self off.
Always ending up in DFU. Ive tried restoring it with a normal firmware and jailbreaking with greenp0ison. Also tried pwngtool.
Cydia doesn't have any SHSH blobs for it so downgrading is out of the question.
Soo, anyone else had this problem?
If I could just figure out what makes the battery drain it would be okay..
Appreciate any help :]
