I have two iPhone 3GS's that I have replaced the LCD's in. They both were damaged through to the digitizer. To my knowledge, and checking the indicators, there was no water damage.

But, neither phone's backlight will function. Software restores have been tried. More than one lcd has been tried. Most of what I have read about the "backlight coil" have involved water damage.

Ideas?

If you truley have tried several different LCD's in both iPhones and they still do not work, I would have to venture and say that the connector for the LCD on the Logic board is damaged on both of the iPhones. You can more than likely sell them both on ebay for a profit of atleast 400$.
