My niece gave me her 3gs to fix. It is dead, wont do anything plugged in wall or itunes.
No apple logo, can't do re-set or go into DFU mode.
Her symptoms before it died were battery wont hold charge and case getting hot.
I put in a new battery, thinking battery was shot, and as soon as the motherboard touches the battery contacts the motherboard gets hot. I also tried the mobo in another working 3gs and same result.
I'm thinking that the mobo is shorted or just stuck in something.
Anybody ever have this problem and know of a fix?
I even took out the battery and re-assembled without a battery but still dead, wont turn on.
I'm thinking any iPhone will not work without a battery and plugged in but I tried anyway.
Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated
