I bought an white iPhone 3GS from ebay the other that was locked to o2 and I needed it to work on 3 since that is who I have my current contract with. I took it down the phone shop and told him that it needed unlocking and he said that he could get it unlocked the proper way for me. He took the phone and double checked that it worked with an o2 sim card fist and he was struggling to make a call. As soon as he hit dial, it just displayed "call failed" but o2-uk was in the top left hand corner and he had signal (I think). He told me there was nothing he could do about it as he thought the phone was blocked.

Can the phone be unblocked and are there any quick fixes to this? I am also considering contacting the ebay seller i bought it off to see if he can contact o2 or something.

Thanks
