Iphone 3GS bluetooth woes

I have an iphone 3gs but it refuses to detect my apple bluetooth headset. My old 3g detectes it every time. Are there compatibility issues with the 3GS or do i have a faulty phone?

Anyone else having issues with 3gs and bluetooth?
