I am planning to repair my friend's 2 broken iPhone 3GS's, and I'm wondering if I need to replace more than just the screen. It looks like a small piece of the frame is chipped off (see attached photo).

  1. What exactly is that frame/chassis thing called? I think it's the "Front Panel", but I'm not 100% sure.
  2. If I'm already spending the money on a replacement screen, is it worth it to get a new Front Panel? I don't know all the ins-and-outs of the Iphone's guts, so I'm not sure if the frame's integrity has been compromised.
  3. Would the Front Panel kit come with a new speaker? And more importantly, would it be removable? The 2nd 3GS has an OK screen but has a bad speaker, so it would be awesome if I could yank it out from the FP kit and pop it in the 2nd phone.

EDIT:
I may have answered my own question here, but I found this on Amazon. It looks like I can replace the black frame with a new screen already attached. It's only $7 more than I was going to pay for a screen.
