I was wondering if anyone has come across a water resistant (waterproof would be great) case for the iPhone 3G/3GS that allows you to use the camera app while in the case?

Try rei.com

I have seen rather inexpensive waterproof pouch from REI. They are made out of very robust clear material. I did not try my phone in it, but it will probably work.

I normally use a good Ziploc bag when kayaking, but will probably puck up one of the water proof pouch from REI as they are quite a bit more robust. Plus you can use it in the water for snorkeling with a compact camera.

Do you know if either case actually floats with the iPhone inside?

The pouches from REI claimed that they do float with cameras inside. If it doesn't, you could leave some air in there as you close the case and for sure it will float.

Very interesting how manufacturers come up with these things. I like. :)
