Hello,
I have an iPhone 3GS (purchased in July 2009) which I jailbroke and unlocked using redsn0w and ultrasn0w in August 2010. I believe the firmware version is 4.0.1.
The data connection on the phone stopped working this afternoon, which could be due to the reception in the area where I was at the time, but it could also be a symptom of whatever is wrong, which is why I mention it. In an attempt to get data working again, I turned the phone off and back on. However, after the spinner appeared, it froze. I repeated this several more times, but to no avail, at which point I tried to do a soft reset (power button + Home button) several times, again to no avail.
When I got home, I figured I'd let the battery run out and then recharge to see if that would fix the issue. However, no matter what power source the iPhone is plugged into, it keeps trying to reboot. It also does not seem to be charging. I am unable to get it into restore mode or DFU mode, and the computer does not recognise it.
I was wondering if anyone had advice on what to do. I am studying and living in Poland at the moment, unfortunately, so I do not have access to an Apple Store. Thanks!
