iphone 3gs goes into recovery mode

hi, i have a iphone 3gs 16gb the power button is broken my problem is that randomly it goes into recovery mode and when i connect it to the computer itunes tells me to restore it, i dont know why this is happening, i restored it like 4 times and it keeps happening, is not under warranty so im trying to fix the problem myself, is not jailbroken, it was before i restore it and update it to 4.3.1.

can anyone help, i dont know what to do. thanx in advance
