iPhone 3GS Grey Screen Help!!!

A bit of a problem has occoured.
Basically, I like modifying things, so I decided to get a white back, white front ect..

I got the parts, 1st I snapped the LCD screen, so I got a new one, but now, when I press the home button/sleep it will come up with a grey screen, also when I charge it, it makes the noise :/
I have no clue what is wrong as it really confuses me.

Anyone had this problem before?

I did have this problem with my iphone 3Gs which was replaced due to some defect. Someone told me the replaced phone I got was a refurbished one.
