iPhone 3GS help

i'm using a iPhone 3GS with bb 5.13.04.. its in ios 4.1.. I sent a request for factory unlock wit at&t few days back and it got approved.. but i couldnt unlock it directly through iTunes, so i unlocked it using SAM.. now i couldnt update the phone... it says the phone could not be restored with an error message.. it'd be great if someone helps..

Put your iPhone in DFU mode, then restore.

I tried. It shows the same error message. error message number is 3194.
