Just recently my 3GS started completely devouring its battery at a rate of about 1% every two minutes under regular conditions (minimal use, mostly stand by). I've had the phone for a good while and its battery life was always great.

To try and pinpoint the problem I decided to turn features off one at a time; wifi, push, location services, 3G, cellular data, notifications. Nothing helped so I turned them all off and put the phone in airplane mode and I can still watch the battery drain 1 percentage point at a time without getting bored.

Even with the screen off it will loose 1% in about 5 minutes.

Any ideas?

*edit*
I have also done a complete restore from scratch (no backup).

Took off the charger at 8am this morning (battery at 100%), by noon (12pm) battery was at 55%.
Usage: 1hr 4 min
Standby: 3hr 55min
