Iphone 3Gs + Ipod 3g dock = no sound from dock

I am trying to use an old Dock that i think come with ipod 3rd gen or bought at that time. The problem is that I get no sound when docking the Iphone 3Gs.

It works fine with an Ipod video.

Has apple changed something?

I'm wondering the same thing. I have an old dock with S-Video and audio out on the back. I brought it into the office because I wanted to play Ambience sounds through my speaker system there and running a headphone jack out the top of the phone while in a dock is...clunky.

No audio comes out the dock port. Just the iPhone speaker.
