iPhone 3GS: Is It Possible To Use A Backup From Windows To Mac?

So basically, I backed up my iPhone 3GS on Windows but I'd like to format my phone to Mac, is there any way of transferring the backup information?

Please please PLEASE let me know

Just copy the backup folder (under MobileSync) and paste it to the Mobilesync folder on the Mac.
