iphone 3gs isnt syncing with itunes :-/

i have tried everything i can think of , went to the apple store had my iphone replaced thinking it was a hardware issue with the phone got it home and still have the exact same issue im running on windows vista home premium.so heres the problem i plug my phone into the computer and absolutly nothing happens, all it does is charge it as if i had it plugged into the wall... i rebooted my comp deleted itunes reinstalled, updated it, checked my firewalls.....everything it just does not show up period on my computer or itunes, i need major help here i think im about to lose it haha.
