My iPhone 3Gs was bought on the day it came out (so its now well out of warranty) and has pink water sensors (distracted by a pretty brunette with a drink in my hand :D).

Recently it has been switching off during use. Powerfailure, not shutting down like it does when the battery runs out. It used to happen when it was cold and the phone was cold soaked and I tried to open or use an instensive app (taking a shot with the camera was a common one) but recently it has been getting worse and it now switches off after about 10 minutes of use off the charger. It runs all day on the charger fine.

As it looks like the next iPhone will be a few months away yet I fancy getting this otherwise perfectly good phone repaired.

Has anybody seen these symptoms before? I reckon a simple battery replacement will sort it but don't want to spend money getting it done if it won't help.

Thank you for any assistance.

(Oh-the brunette was a worthwhile distraction-she in now my Fiancee)
