iPhone 3GS neverending sync

Whenever I sync, it all seems to work (all data synced) except it gets stuck at "Finishing sync" in iTunes and the phone remains in sync mode.

iPhone 3GS, 4.2.1
iTunes 10.1.1.4
PC running Vista


Any suggestions?
