iPhone 3GS: No signal but 3G is fine.

My iPhone 3GS has reception problems, dropping from good to non-existent just like that while I'm staying put. But sometimes the phone reception and the 3G service is really different.

I'll have no bars, or have it say "No Service" or "Searching..." while 3G works with no problems and continues to show.

Any thoughts?

having the same problem, did you find a fix? I think it's a hardware issue
