Hi,
I recently bought an iPhone 3gs as a present. It was locked to Vodafone and I wanted to use it on o2. I took it to a local shop who said they unlock iPhones, when I picked it up it was working fine.
I synced it to my itunes account to upgrade to ios 5. Since then I have just had the message 'no sim card installed' on the home screen of itunes and the phone itself.
Someone said to restore it as a new phone, but I can't do it as it's stuck on the 'no sim card installed' screen. I cant open the device up to restore it.
The shop said they didn't unlock it, that it was jailbroken with cydia and now is crashed because I upgraded the software and they can't do anything!
Any help much appreciated as it's a christmas present :(

The shop installed the iPad bb to unlock it.
You don't restore or upgrade it to official firmware EVER.
You will have to reflash the iPad bb and go down to 4.1 again. Ultrasnow unlock is not compatible with 5.0.1 yet.

forgive my ignorance-I have no idea how to do that! :(
Should I just take it to Apple?!?
