Hello everybody!
OK so... My iPhone 3GS, less than 6 months old, no water damage, hasn't been dropped, not jailbroken, has been kept in a hard cover with screen protector so all in all, it's in great condish.
I recently backed up the phone via iTunes (Windows) and when I turned my phone off for the evening and turned it back on again in the morning and then there was nothing. It turned on and it came up with the screen that you get when you turn the phone on for the first time.
OK fine, so I connect to iTunes and sort it out right? Wrong. It won't connect to iTunes and every now and then it'll come up with a message saying, "This accessory is not made to work with iPhone. Would your like to turn on Airplane Mode to reduce audio interference? You will not be able to make or recieve calls."
Blast! So I got into contact with Apple and I sent it off to them for them to replace it, as they said they would. Sweet. So I received a parcel today with... My original iPhone and a standard letter saying that "A visual inspection has determined that your iPhone has internal and/or external physical damage resulting from an external force, which is excluded from Apple's service coverage."
I'm ringing Apple tomorrow to ask what, specifically, is wrong with the damned thing and see if I get any results. Even have a word or two and get them to sort it out.
However, I was wondering if any of you good people have had any problems like this and if you have any help for me to get my phone up and running again.
Thanks,
Andy
