Iphone 3gs not letting me sent or receive text

This just started happening last night, I try to send a text and the status bar goes about 90% and stays there and does not send the text. I also cannot receive anything. WTF , any ideas?

Most send and receive errors that I have on my iPhone fall into two categories: my cellular carrier problems or my iPhone needs to be restored. If the problem is constant and does not seem to work one moment and then not the next, I would try a restore first and see if that doesn't solve your problems.
