Hi,

I'm ineligible for the $299 upgrade for the 32GB but my dad is and he has his own, separate account. He has the original iPhone 2G. He said I can use the upgrade and just give him my old 16GB iPhone 3G. Can I just swap SIM cards (or something else?) Is this okay? Also, he won't be able to go to the Apple/ATT store to pick-up a reserved phone. Does the primary account holder need to be the one picks up the phone? Or does this just apply to the ATT store? Or would the ship option work better?

I'd like to order within the next couple hours.

Thanks in advance,
Christian

I'm sure he needs to be the one to buy it, but switching SIM cards should work with no problems. As long as AT&T is getting money from somebody through a 2 year contract, they don't really care who uses the phone.
