iPhone 3gs on at&t

My current contract is up in august and it looks like the new iPhone wont be out till september, so my question is can I sign a new 2 year and save my upgrade? will I be able to keep my unlimited data plan?

has anyone else had this problem, perhaps with the iphone 4?

Just go month to month with your existing plan until they offer the new phone, then make the upgrade with new 2yr commitment. That's what I am doing. I'm eligible for upgrade at best price to an iphone 4 as of sometime in july but I'm going to wait.
