iPhone 3GS on Edge = No Voicemail?

I was out of town this weekend at a friends place where they have no 3G network available, only Edge. I got a few message but I was not able to get my voicemails. It would either keep cycling over and over like it was pulling the message, or display a message saying visual voicemail is not available.

I called AT&T and they said it should be working, so I turned off 3G and I'm having the same problem here. Anyone else experiencing this?

No problems here. My voicemail works on EDGE just fine. Call AT&T Tech Support. Try restoring the phone. Removing the sim and putting it back in. Contact Apple.
