Is it just me, or does it seem that each app, game, etc, has its own independent sound setting? Meaning that if your in a game or app and lower the volume in there your ringer volume stays where it was.

i don't remember my orig/2g doing this and whenever i changed the volume somewhere, it changed it across the board.

Maybe it's me, but I like it!

a quick test and you can find this doesn't happen.

or at least on my 3.0 running on my 3g

wierd. it's working for me. I just went through a
bunch of apps... setting the volume for those apps
at all different levels... closed the apps and reopened
them, volume was the same, and my ringer volume never changed.

my old 2g would not do that. If I lowered
the volume in a app subsequently my ringer
volume would then be that lower volume.
but I haven't tried it with my old one with the
3.0 installed so I don't know if it was the update
or the new 3gs.

Its been doing that for me since 2.0...

The volume in apps is the same volume used to control the iPod.
The ringer controls the phone volume and alarms itself..
If you wait a few seconds after opening an application and then adjust the volume it changes it across the apps and iPod, but adjusting the second you open it up, it glitches and adjusts the ringer volume only.

well that is a wierd glitch. I see what you mean. although most
apps as soon as I opened them and changed the volume
(I wasn't doing that) default to the ringer
volume, when I do it on arcade bowl it does not change the ringer.
oh well, wish they all worked that way. I guess I wasted .00001% of Internet
space on this thread! delete!
