Hi guys, I hope you guys can help me with this.

I ordered an iphone 3GS on Apple Store online without contract by using the trick at appleiphoneschool (edited the website code) at $699 (I did not fill in any credit card information or something like that). Then Apple sent me an email said that I would receive an email that contained my phone number and information etc (eventually I did not). When I received the phone, there's a sim card inside the tray, but I did not use that sim card to activate my phone, I borrowed my girlfriend's sim card to do that. Now I wonder if the sim card Apple sent me is not activated (I put the sim in the other phone and it didn't work), will I be charged anything from ATT, or I simply just bought the phone without contract?

I want one that is unlocked.. Can they be ordered like this now? Anyone else know?

No contract prising means, let me guess, no contract?

Right, no contract I meant here is that I did not choose any plans, fill in any information regarding my credit card, SSN or something like that.

Something doesn't sound right or I am missing something. I tried online and all orders have to be with a contract from AT&T..

Whats the point, its still locked to at&t.
Mind as well open up an account, get it for $199 and pay the $175 etf.
All iphones sold in the US are locked to AT&T, theres no unlocked version unless you buy one international.

So you mean that I can sign the contract with ATT and then after 30 days, pay the first month bill and the early termination fee and that's it?

So the total cost would be:

$299 iphone
$175 etf
$70 first month bill

Total: $544???

Then, if I use the iphone with another ATT sim card without data plan. Will ATT automatically add a data plan to that sim card?

Pretty much.....
They wont force a data plan if you just stick someones elses simcard in it.
You just gotta call them up and block data on that account before you put your sim in the iphone.
