Hi everyone.... been reading a lot these days about jailbreaking, but still havent found a definite answer to my problem.

I bought a used iphone 3GS jailbreaked and unlocked running 4.1 (done by the previous owner). Baseband is 6.15 and it has the old bootrom.

My goal is to perform a clean install to 4.1. Here is what I learned so far. If it is in the ipad baseband I have to use a custom firmware. But which firmware will I use in PwnageTool? Do I need SHSH for 4.1 (i don't have it apparently).

If I cant use 4.1 can i clean restore to something else. Im kinda lost here!

Thanks

Humm... dont seem to be able to send mms in 4.2.1. When running 4.1 that wasnt an issue!!

Has anyone read anything about this?

I have no issue with MMS on this. So, if you are on T-Mobile, then try this;

1. Open Cydia.
2. Manage/source/edit/add
Cydia.pushfix.info

Add source.

3. pushfix.info/T-Mobile US MMS fix

Then,
4. Setting/general/network/cellular Data network/MMS:

APN: wap.voicestream.com
Username:
Password:
MMSC: 216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
MMS Proxy 216.155.165.50:8080
MMS Max Message size:
MMS UA Prof URL:

Thanx, but I'm on a Portuguese network! Some O2 users said the issue was related to MMS size... but I have no options regarding that parameter!

A bit more of research really points out the message size being the problem. Something to do with 4.2.1 not resizing pictures automatically. Now trying to figure out a solution for this...
