I want to get a iPhone 3Gs (why not a 4? not enough money and im too young to work.) now that the iPhone 4 launched the price has gone down. But i cant find a recent retail price for it since i have to buy it retail if i want to upgrade.

Thanks!

In the US for 8GB iPhone 3GS:

Early upgrade price: $299
Full upgrade: $99

Off contract: $499

full unsubsidized retail price (no contract required) is $499, iPhone 4 16GB is only 100$ more, at $599.

with a 2 year contract its $99, and iPhone 4 is only 100$ more, at $199.

Seriously, if youre willing to pay 500$ for an iPhone 3GS, its a joke to not just pay 100$ more and get the iPhone 4 which will also have double capacity.

Even used, you'll have a hard time finding someone to sell a 3Gs for $150-200.

I love my 3GS I have a white 32 GB which I bought brand new in July of 09 and even though I bought the i4 I will hang onto my 3GS just in case. I even loaded iOS4 and I never had trouble with it.

Great phone if you can find one and afford it
