Iphone 3gs Save backup before new 4s arrives

I am aware that when I update my iPhone through itunes it creates a backup I can use to restore my phone. I am also aware that it only stores a set number and overwrites them.
Is it possible to keep my last backup of my 3gs somewhere in case I need to go back to it after porting everything across to my new 4s?

you can go into the backup location of itunes and can copy and paste the backup at any location..

and the second way is to make a manuall backup by ifunbox or any tool you like. if u need to make a manual backup, then let me know. i will help you.
