Hello,

I did a quick search and didn't see anything specific on this yet. Please point me to the right thread if I missed it.

One of the reasons I never upgraded from the original iPhone is because there were a lot of complaints and issues concerning the service (number of bars) while on 3G in some major metropolitan areas, including NYC.

I remember people only have 2-3 bars on 3G and then getting a full 5 bars when switching to Edge.

I was wondering what some of you who upgraded yesterday are finding with service in the major city areas, especially NYC.

Any details here would be great appreciated as I am looking to upgrade ASAP.

Thanks!

iPhone 3GS service in major cities (i.e NYC)

I don't have 3GS..I have 3G and before the 3.0 update, I was running on edge had 5 bars where as my 3G only had 3 bars. Now since upgrading to 3.0 it's reversed. Actually I didn't mind edge it saved my battery life, now on 3G my phone calls I have to admit are much clearer..but my battery life is not as long.
