Iphone 3GS Slide lock keeps getting stuck

Iphone 3Gs..............I know I know, time to replace. Waiting til the new one comes out.
Ios 5
Lately the slide lock gets stuck and I cant open it.
After I power down,then power up it usually works
I can use the shortcut to the camera and open that way, every time......so far.
Any ideas how I can fix this?
just waiting for the new model to come out........................

if restore didnt worked. then the screen might be damaged or so. see a technician for the fix.

What happens if you wait 30 seconds or so? The 3gs has struggles running post iOS 3 and has to load your apps in the back round. Just a thought.
