ok so here's the problem. When i am typing email or text, the keyboard clicks start out as loud, and just midway the sounds becomes low, and sometimes when i put the phone to sleep, it doesnt make the sound.

so does this mean that the speaker is defective? it randomly goes up and down

anyone else experience this? worth taking it to apple and replacing it?

also if i call apple and order a new one, do i have to send the old one out first?

thanks

Now answer me this.... is your hand, finger, or thumb blocking the hole on the bottom of the phone when this is happening?

Do you have like a tape recorder or something similar.. if so then record it doing it... You might be able to use the recorder on the 3GS
