iPhone 3GS - Stuck in 1015 Loop

I recently bought an iPhone3GS from eBay that is stuck in the 1015 recovery loop. The seller had the phone in 5.0 beta 3 and tried to downgrade when it got stuck. I have been unsuccessful in my attempts thus far. I don't necessarily need it jailbroken, just trying to get it functional. Any ideas?

- I have no SHSH blobs
- Tried TinyUmbrella. no luck
- Tried WinRecovery - no luck
- Tried iReb - nada

I'm stuck.

Did you type in the simple words "downgrade 5 beta" in the search forums box, above? I did. Low and behold, about halfway down the list there is a post that explains how to do it.

Yes I've been searching for help for quite awhile. All those guides to downgrade require SHSH blobs, which I don't have. Unless I'm not reading them right.

I am running iTunes 10.3 (didn't upgrade it to OS 5 myself), so there is nothing to downgrade to for iTunes. When I try to simply restore, it remains stuck in the 1015 recovery loop.

Edit- also, getting into DFU can take multiple attempts- I once spent close to an hour trying to get out of a boot recovery loop before it hit. It's timing with the buttons and, sometimes, with the USB cable.

DFU restore to a 4.3.3 IPSW and then use RecBoot or TU to kick it out of recovery?

No luck here either. I can get it into DFU mode no problem, but the recovery loop continues...

I'll try RecBoot, haven't done that yet. TinyUmbrella didn't kick it out.

Easiest solution to get out of recovery boot loop is fixrecovery. Download from tinyumbrella blog

Try to restore to iOS 4.3.4 using iTunes 10.3 - get error 1015.
Try fixrecovery - after going through process - goes back to recovery screen
Try RecBoot - screen flashes, goes back to recovery screen
Select Exit Recovery on TinyUmbrella - goes back to recovery screen

Also built a custom IPSW 4.3.3 using snowbreeze 2.7.3, get error 3194.
Change hosts file to 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com, get error 3194 (I'm guessing this is because I have no SHSH files saved; hence the root of my problems)

Error 3194, but thats trying iOS5 beta 3. Didn't they just release beta 4? Is there a download link to it?

Error 3194 usually means that you have to point the update server to Saruik for SHSH blob restore...

As for beta 4, there is not legal way of you obtaining it. As well, it is quite difficult to restore back to iTunes 4.3.3 and below from iOS 5 because it is not technically allowed by Apple.
