Hey all,

This phone isn't jailbroken or anything, but I'm stuck in a recovery loop. When I plug it into iTunes and try to do a restore, I get "The device isn't eligible for requested build". Does iTunes not choose what should go on it? I believe my software was fully up to date before this happened. I've tried recboot and tinyumbrella to kick it out of recovery but neither work. Any advice at all would be appreciated.

Thaks,
Trevor

I used pwnage to put it into DFU and I still get the same error when trying to restore. I don't believe the phone was jailbroken before, no.

I didn't select one, I just hit "restore" in iTunes. I've since downloaded the ISPW's for 4.3.2, 4.3.1, 4.3, 4.2.1, & 4.1 and neither of them worked.

Create a custom ipsw for 4.3.3 in PwnageTool and restore that way.

Did you buy the iPhone second hand? Because it could of been unlocked and jailbroken at one point and have the iPad baseband installed. Giving you the errors.

The custom firmware should work for 4.3.3

I can't find an ipsw 4.3.3 for iphone 3gs to download. Which version of pwnage should I use once I find one?

No, that didn't work either - I still got the "phone could not be restored. This device isn't eligible for the requested build".
