iPhone 3GS unlock baseband 5.12.01?

unlock applies to the baseband, regardless of the iOS, whether its 3.1.3 or 4.0
 
Ok good because im giving my 3GS to my dad when iPhone 4 comes out and wanted to make sure if updating to iOS4 would stop the unlock of baseband
 
I am hoping this comes true soon. Not sure why there's no real news on this unlock. What's the big secret?

I remember hearing it would be out around the 7th and that date came and went. Let's hope this date holds up.
 
I don't know where iPhoneheat got their information from, but so far the Dev Team has not yet confirmed that an unlock for the 4.0 baseband (5.13.04) is ready. MuscleNerd has hinted that there will be one, but never confirmed one is ready.

Actually he has tweeted (on several occasions) that an unlock for the 3.1.3 and 4.0 basebands is ready to roll out.

The 3.1.3 is good news! Hopefully the whole itunes 9.2 crap doesn't affect it...
and hopefully the iPhone 4 is unlockable as well
 
I hope the unlock is out Monday when 4.0 is officially released so i can get this phone sold! I'd rather have the $350 in my hand when I get iPhone 4 instead of banking on having it down the road.

The hackers have already advised iTunes 9.2 has no effect on either Pwnage Tool or Redsn0w.

The Spirit jailbreak is history now as iOS4 closed the exploit (as we all knew it would)

I have been fallowing Musclenerd for sometime. he is not the type that speaks off the cuff. if he had any doubt he wouldn't say anything. of course there can be a surprise or two. I have never seen him ever boast something they can't do!
 
Can someone please clarify, I have the Iphone 3GS firmware 3.1.3 with modem firmware 05.12.01. I understand this cannot be unlocked at the moment, but can this be Jailbroken? If so, which program? Thanks!
 
Anyone know if this will require a restore to complete?

in other words, will this require "blobs" from 3.0?
 
Wow, I just jailbraked my Iphone with Spirit. That was super easy. I should have done a backup first though. Although one was done about a week ago. Anyhow, I haven't even opened Itunes yet. Is there anything I need to worry about doing or not doing since I jailbraked my phone? Also, Im selling my phone and just jailbraked it but haven't wiped out my info/saved info before I sell. If I do that, does that do anything to the phone besides clearing my information and store stuff? Thanks!

I advised you to read MuscleNerd's tweets. It is specified there which baseband's the pending unlock will handle. I don't expect you to believe me, but I have given you the location to satisfy yourself.

Perhaps if you followed up, you might not disbelieve what we know as fact, since as stated, MuscleNerd has a very long history of never overstating what he and the DevTeam can accomplish.

Of course, it is always your option to believe or doubt as you wish. :)
