Hi, I have an iPhone 3Gs that has recently stopped vibrating when I get an incoming text, but when someone calls me it does vibrate. I've tried changing the switch multiple times, and I've turned on vibrate for both texts and calls in settings and nothing works. I have tried everything I could possibly think of. Does anyone have some advice? I am also trying to avoid going to the Apple Store.

Since the vibrate function, does seem to work, that would seem to eliminate a hardware problem.

Looks like you have two options, restore as new or take it to Apple, in which case they might restore it anyway.
