Iphone 3gs VS Ipod touch

Hi

I bought the Iphone 4 a while back, I had a 3gs before that and I want to keep it in case my 4 breaks.

I have all ways wanted a touch but are the specs for the 3gs the same as the touch? The only difference I can see is size.

Also could I get an Ipad sim and put that in my 3gs to get internet on the go?

just get an ordinary phone sim for the 3gs but why not just use the internet on the iphone 4? which you can share with an ipod touch or 3gs?

also a 4th gen touch is better specs than a 3gs (closer to an iphone 4) although they do much the same thing.
