So I have an iPhone 3GS, and this randomly came to my head, if I'm on my notebook, and my notebook doesn't have wifi connections but, if the iphone 3GS has a wifi connection and i tether with it do i use the internet connection from the phone (Telus) or the wifi network?

via, this is done by bluetooth but please tell me what occurs for the USB.

if no one knows speculate? would love an answer if anyone could experiment with this.

lets say, i have a notebook that has the same wifi as the iphone and im working in the basement and im overlooking how to do certain things, price of certain objects and etc so if i bluetooth my iphone from my living room, id get the same internet as if i was in my living room without all the delays.

So I think what you are asking is:
1. If your notebook has 2 connections to the internet (wifi and BT tethered to iPhone) which will it use?

2. If your notebook has 2 connections to the internet (wifi and USB tethered iPhone) which will it use?

Generally priority is wired>>wireless>>BT but Windows can be finkel and do unexpected things.

hehe not exactly,

If your notebook connects to the internet via iphone and your iphone has wifi and phone network (mine is telus) which will The phone connect to, the phone network or wifi network btw. mines a macbook.

You cannot share a WiFi connection on your iPhone with a laptop through any available tethering solution. Tethering only shares your phone's cellular data connection.
