iPhone 3GS wi fi not working

Hi a friend of mine has a 3GS and his wi fi is not working, he's been told that the unlock for the 3GS does not allow/unlock the wi fi option on the 3GS

Is that true?? I have a 3G and no problems with wi fi whatsover, don't know about the 3GS... I've been searching but with no success so far...

version 3.1.2 (7D11)
firmware del modem: 05.11.07



Any clues? Shall he JB and UL again via blackra1n?

Update to custom 3.1.3 and install Blacksn0w RC2 Final for the cydia.pushfix.info repo. I had to do this because my SHSH was not saved and I had to restore before selling so this method gave me zero problems.

The original Blacksn0w did have some bugs... definitely advise him to install blacksn0w RC2, as mentioned above, but try it before a restore as that may fix the problem.

Oh, by the way you will need the old bootrom to be able to restore to custom firmware on a 3GS.
