iPhone 3GS Won't Back Up

Hello everyone! :cool:

Anyways I got a new iPhone 3GS about a month ago and it's been great. One problem is it won't back-up in iTunes and I get the error message (-20). I can't seem to fix it and I tried uninstalling and re-installing iTunes. This has always been a problem, it may have back-uped once but that's about it. I now can't install the iOS 4.0.1 update because of this. So please kind people, help me out :(
