I disassembled my iPhone after I dropped it on the floor. The side where the volume control is was popped open. The mute button popped out of its place, so I had to open it.

After doing all that and reassembling the phone, I want to start it up. Here is the problem...

After +/- 15 seconds the Apple logo disappears and those looping little lines start to run continuously (you know like when it's loading something, those lines).

I tried a hard reset, I am currently trying for the 2nd time a hard reset via iTunes. But it doesn't work.

Can someone help me out? I used the exact steps mentioned on iFixit on how to disassemble the iPhone 3GS, so I don't know what I am doing wrong.

I don't want to spend money on a new iPhone as I will be saving my money for the iPhone 5.
