ok i dont have the green text save SHSH on my cydia im on 4.0.1 on my iphone 4 can i still get it to save to cydia sever just in case i need to restore?

Well if you asking about it and don't know how it's done you can pretty well bet your not. saved but when you open cydia it will tell you if and what shsh you have saved. also Tiny Umbrella will tell you. Just Bing It!

When I open cydia it says at the top "This device has SHSHs on file for iPhone iOS: 4.0.1 , 4.0.2. Does this mean I have them saved? Dumb question please answer.
That would mean no more "help, I accidentally upgraded to 4.0.2!" and other similar posts.

That would probably cause 80% of the threads in iPhone hacks to disappear.
I know I wonder if we can talk the Dev-team into it. Also if you pester them about when the next jailbreak is, well again you loose your license.
Seriously, just reread what Cydia says and see if that might mean they are saved or they are not saved.
