iPhone 4: 2nd call made was dropped. Never happened with 3GS.

I know there are a lot of threads already about this but I feel that I need a place to vent my frustration. Mods, if you want to delete this please go ahead.

Anyways, I've just made my second call on the iPhone 4 and it dropped it after about five minutes.

I was calling from my work which I've done for over two years on the 3GS and it only dropped it once, ever.

I'm right-handed and was holding the phone to my right ear but my pinky must have bridged the antennas or something.

I'm incredibly frustrated right now. Because Apple has waived the restocking fee I don't feel as though I'm being screwed since I have the opportunity to return the phone but I really, really like the phone aside from this huge issue.

Hopefully Apple issues an updated statement otherwise I'll have to return the phone which I really don't want to do. :(

The real answer: Get a case. If you intend to keep the phone and you intend to actually use you it you will have to get a case. Once I put mine in a case, I discovered reception is noticably better than any previous iPhone. Per your frustration....yep, I have a Macbook Pro, two Macbooks, an iMac, and 6 or 8 iPhones and it's always something with everything Apple does, be it hardware or software. Always something. After this mess, however, I'm totally done buying Apple. There's lots of other fish in the sea, screw 'em.
 
i'll Say It Again Like I've Said Before! We Shouldn't Have To Buy A Case Just To Use The Phone Like It Was Advertised To Be Used!!!

Salute me too then, because I have never ever had a dropped call with my 3G, either......And now i'm supposed to have better reception with the new phone like Apple advertised!

I don't have to use a case, and mine has full bars. Sorry, dude. Guess you got a dud.
 
I have owned a 3G for a year and never had a dropped call.


I have had my iP4 since launch and haven't had a dropped call yet.

I'm not on at&t though...
