To start off I am new to Apple and i just brought a Iphone4. I was told it was unlocked and I have T-mobile service with the normal sim card. So i went to the t-mobile store today to get it checked out to see if it was unlocked he said it wasn't because the Carrier under the Generals was still AT&T 13.0 without even checking with the micro sim inside

So i contact the person i brought it from he told me- to put the micro sim card for t-moblie in the iphone4 and do a restore-

my question is can you tell by the Model #, Carrier, IME, or anything without sticking a micro sim in

Thank you
Model MC319LL

So I have to plug it into my computer and open up Itunes and do a restore from Itunes. when it is finish restoring my itunes on my computer screen should say my Iphone is unlocked.

is that right?
