I activated my iPhone 4 this morning. In all the normal spots i had 5 bars with the iPhone 3G, i now have no bars and sometimes it is searching for signal.

The bars are a s/w bug. Actual signal is the same. See Uncle Walt's video review. Apple will fix...eventually, but it's only cosmetic.

Although he does say there were areas where 3gs in one hand and 4g in the other the 4g would be momentarily searching for signal. It will be interesting.

I do notice that my bars are showing lower, but my actual service seems fine so it's no big deal for me now.

That's not necessarily true. My actual reception -- forget the bars --with the 4 is much worse than with the 3GS.

In the iphone 4 announcement conference the 3GS was recieving the internet fine but the iPhone 4 Wasn't.

He had them side by side.

It seems the antenna on 3GS is better.
