iPhone 4 + 3rd party headphones + moving car = bad calls

On the iPhone 4, if I use my 3rd party headphones (vmoda duo) in the car, while the car is moving, there is a pulsing interference which I can hear, and the person on the other end can hardly hear me at all. I have tested this with the same iPhone 4 model, in 2 cars, and using the Vmoda and Apple headphones. Only happens with the vmoda, and only while moving. If I stop at a light, even with the car running, the interference goes away.

Any thoughts?
